Design and Build Quality
The BeatsX comes with the Flex U band that hangs around your neck and this design looks bulky to an outsider who sees you wearing the headphones but it is actually comfortable to carry around.
The headphones are comfortable but more could be done with their looks as they just look annoying from the first impressions especially to someone who has never tried the U band style wireless headphones.
The Jaybird X3, on the other hand, has a pretty simple design and comes with a wire attaching the two earpieces. The headphones look sleek with the Jaybird Logo embossed on the earbuds and I guess when it comes to looks it is safe to say Jaybird X3 is sleeker in comparison to the BeatsX.
Overall, considering everything the Jaybird has a much better-looking design than the BeatsX.
The Jaybird X3 headphones are known for their amazing sound quality and for that bass that blows up in your ear especially when it is at full volume.
The crisp clear sound on the Jaybirds along with the pump that you get is motivating for workouts.
Speaking of sound quality, the BeatsX headphones are not bad in comparison to the Jaybird X3. If you are not an audiophile then most probably you would not be able to notice a difference in the sound quality.
However, the Jaybird X3 comes with a nice dedicated app that lets you tune the sound according to your preference and there is no app that could compare with the functionality of the one that comes with the Jaybird X3.
The BeatsX has an amazing connectivity with your iPhone and it just takes a few seconds to pair up these headphones with your iPhone.
The headphones are pretty comfortable, however, I really like the BeatsX when it comes to comfort. The earbuds are small and hence stay in my eyes perfectly without falling off during gym sessions.
Even if the headphone falls from the ear, it hands securely around the neck and the earbuds also have a magnetic clasp which holds them together.
The BeatsX is actually more comfortable than I had expected since I was not a fan of teh U flex band that comes along with it.
The Jaybird X3, on the other hand, is comfortable and comes with different ear tips and fin tip combination. Both the earbuds stay in your ears during workout sessions, however, it is important to consider that the U flex band does provide more stability to the headphones.
These BeatsX have no clear IPX rating specified, however, they can handle sweat but it really does make it difficult to say anything about the longevity of the product.
Most of the users are pretty satisfied with the product and have not stated any major complaints.
The Jaybird X3 is sweatproof and waterproof, however, you cannot submerge these headphones in water for way too long.
The headphones are perfect for gym workout sessions and them being dustproof and sweatproof would definitely help them last longer.
Both the headphones come with a dust bag, however, the one that comes with Jaybird is much easier to use than the one that comes along with the BeatsX. Storing them in the dust bag can help you save a lot of
The Jaybird X3 comes with an 8-hour battery life where a 15 min charging can fetch you some 2 hours of play time. This is really cool and if you are in a hurry then all you need is a 15 min charge that will last your entire gym session.
BeatsX has an 8-hour battery life as well and this headphone too can give you a 2-hour playback with just 5-minute charge.
The BeatsX uses the lightning cable in order to get charged and this means you can easily charge it anywhere or even use your iPhone charger.
The Jaybird X3 has its own headphones and you might want to carry it with you as you cannot replace it with your iPhone charger. In this, the BeatsX is a more comfortable headphone to be used.
Looking at the price point the BeatsX make a lot more sense than the Jaybird X3. So between the two, it is quite clear that I would recommend the BeatX as they are a bit better.
However, if you are not the fan of the U Flex band then you might like the Jaybird X3 better.
But if you do not mind the way the band looks around your neck and are not bothered about the fine-tuning of your audio then go ahead with the BeatsX.
The Jaybird X3 has an amazing sound quality, so if you are obsessed with that then you could look for the X3’s as well.
