Bose SoundSport Pulse and Powerbeats 3 are two best sports Bluetooth headphones and this comparison review of both the headphones is going to be pretty interesting. If you are confused on which is a better pick for your workout sessions then continue reading this comparison post where each and every feature is going to be discussed.
Both the headphones are wireless although there is a piece of wire that connects the earbuds the headphones themselves are connected to the phone via Bluetooth. The Bose SoundSport Pulse comes with a Heart Rate Monitor(HRM) which can be used to measure your body stats while exercising and on the other hand the Powerbeats doesn’t have an HRM.

Design and Build Quality
The design of both the headphones is different. Bose headphones have heavier earbuds and have a fin tip design, the overall earbud on the Bose Soundsport is chunkier than the usual sports Bluetooth headphones. The fin tip design on the Bose SoundSport Pulse provides the user with a much more comfortable fit.
The Powerbeats 3 has an ear clip design so the earbuds stay even when you go for running. The design and fit of the Powerbeats headphones are pretty amazing and even though it does not come with the fin tip design like the Bose SoundSport, the headphones are pretty comfortable to wear while workouts.
If you are not a huge fan of the HRM which comes with the Bose SoundSport headphones then the Design and Build quality of the Powerbeats headphone feels slightly better. Although if you completely go on the looks then the Bose Soundsport does look a little better.
The sound quality of both the headphones is AMAZING and if you are wondering which one is better then let me tell you, it is Bose SoundSport. I mean, it is a pretty close competition bu Bose has always been the best when it comes to sound quality and though you won’t find much of a difference. When you look at the finer details, Bose is better.
The Powerbeats headphones have a pretty crisp and clear sound quality along with a powerful Bass. The sound on the Bose is definitely better and you can tell if you compare the two headphones side by side. Not that the Powerbeats 3 is bad but the Bose is better.
The POwerbeats 3 headphones have a pretty good connectivity and honestly, the connectivity on these headphones is by far the best I have seen on any sports Bluetooth headphones. Both the headphones are pretty good for taking up calls and comes with an inline remote.
Overall, Bose does have a better sound quality.
Both the headphones are pretty comfortable. The Bose headphones come with different sizes of ear tips and fin tips, once you find the perfect combination for yourself the headphones are going to fit really well. The earbuds are going to stay and you do not need to worry about them falling out every 5 minutes.
The Powerbeats headphones, on the other hand, come with the ear clip that holds the earbuds of the Powerbeats earbuds in place and in my opinion, I found this slightly more comfortable. The comfort level is more of a personal choice and I feel both the headphones are pretty comfortable to wear.
In this case, both Bose and Powerbeats 3 are pretty comfortable, you could choose depending on which design you want to go for, the fin tip design or the ear clip design.
Both the headphones are sweat and weather resistant which means you can use them even when you are dripping sweat. The Powerbeats headphones can tolerate splashes of water without getting spoiled, however, you might want to be a bit careful as you cannot completely submerge both the headphones in water. Therefore, the headphones are not the best when it comes to swimming.
The headphones come with a dust bag, so you can easily store them when they are not in use. Something that is really important about the headphones is the maintenance. I have lost quite a few headphones because of the loosening of the wires near the earbuds resulting in loss of sound from the earbuds.
In order to avoid this from happening, take some time to keep them back in the dust bag once you are done using them.
The Battery life of the Bose SoundSport Pulse is 5-6 hours which is pretty good. The HRM is always on with the headphones and that is the reason, the battery life will just last to a maximum of 6 hours with these headphones. You do not have the option to switch off the HRM while using the Bluetooth headphones.
The Powerbeats 3, has the battery life of a beast. It can last for about 12 hours which is amazing. If you are using your headphone only for working out then this battery can last you an entire week without charging. However, if you use it the entire day, then the battery would last for 2 days.
You can charge both the headphones using the micro USB cable and it is pretty easy to get around 2 hours of play time with just 5 minutes of charging. For the Bose headphones, you might want to use some third party apps to have the perfect coordination with the HRM as third-party apps have more features than the dedicated app from Bose.
Overall, the Powebeats 3 comes with a better battery life in comparison to the Bose SoundSport Pulse headphones.
In conclusion, both the headphones are pretty good. The Bose comes with a comfortable fit and design, along with great sound quality and an HRM. The overall battery life on these headphones is 6 hours which is pretty good when you consider the inclusion of the Heart Rate Monitor.
On the other hand, the Powerbeats 3 headphones have an ear clip design which gives a nice fit and the battery life can last up to 12 hours. They do not have an HRM but even then it is good that the headphones have some really good battery life and is water and sweat resistant.
Both the headphones have their own features, if asked to pick one, I would choose the Powerbeats 3 but if you are someone who loves to keep track of their health then you should go for the Bose SoundSport with the HRM since it is probably the best one out there.
