Design and Build Quality
The design of the Jaybird X3 headphones is sleek and the earbuds feel really comfortable in the ears. The headphones give a nice premium feel and are made up of really good quality material. The headphones have a really great fit and are going to stay in your ear even when you are doing some extensive exercise.
However, we have to understand here that both the headphones in comparison are premium headphones and if you are looking at the design and material then I must say that both the headphones are equally good in this aspect.
The design of the Bose headphones is slightly different in comparison to the Jaybird X3.
The earbuds in Bose are heavier in comparison to the Jaybird earbuds and they are designed to stay on top of your ears, but in both the cases, the fit is pretty okay. Personally, when it comes to the fit I would prefer the Jaybird headphones.
Both the headphones are known for their amazing sound quality. The Jaybird X3 headphones have a great sound quality and with the dedicated app that comes along with the headphones, you can make fine adjustments in the sound and adjust it according to your liking.
The Bose SoundSport has a great sound quality as well and at this point, it really comes down to a person’s choice. If you want a crisp sound quality then the Jaybird X3’s should be more of your preference.
However, if you like a nice smooth sound quality then the Bose SoundSport headphones are perfect for your workout experience.
Although both the headphones have their own dedicated apps and in the case, you want to tune the music, you can do it with the app for both the headphones as per your liking.
Overall, the sound quality of both the headphones is amazing but I would prefer Bose over Jaybird X3 any day when it comes to sound quality.
I do have smaller ears and hence the ear canals are quite narrow in comparison to most people. This may not be an accurate measurement but for someone who is 5 feet 2 inches tall, this is the best way to put it- The Bose SoundSport does start to be a little uncomfortable after a while.
I think the Bose SoundSport would be preferable for men and the Jaybird X3’s are ideal for women since they tend to have relatively narrow ear tips.
This is more like a conjunction since I have not tried it on a group of men and women but I can say for sure that if you want something smaller in size then it would be better to go for the Jaybird X3 headphones.
Both the headphones come with ear tips of different sizes, hence you can find the perfect fit for yourself. You can take up calls and control the music on both the headphones with the inline remote that has been provided with the headphones.
The Bose SoundSport has an IPX 4 rating which means that it is sweatproof and not entirely waterproof. You cannot go swimming with these headphones, however, they can easily survive a few splashes of water. The Bose headphones do have a problem with durability as complained by many users.
Apparently, the bonding material used to hold the parts of the headphones together wear off over time for many people and even though you do get a replacement because of the warranty, it is a bummer that you have to go through this issue.
Hopefully, the company addresses this and improves their build quality which would help in increased durability.
The Jaybird, on the other hand, are sweatproof and can survive few splashes of water. It is not waterproof like the Bose headphones and hence when it comes to durability both the headphones have the same arguments. You can use both the headphones easily for a year without any issues.
However, do take some care if you want it to last for 2-3 years with some minimum maintenance habits like storing it in a dust bag when not in use. Although this might appear trivial it helps to avoid the loosening of wires from the earbuds.
The Battery life of the Bose SoundSport headphones is below average and it is just 5 hours. This is pretty good if you are just using the headphones for the gym or running. If you plan on using it for a while after your workout then the battery will not last long.
This is one of the major differences between the Jaybird and the Bose wireless headphones. The Jaybird Headphones has a pretty good battery life of 8 hours. This will last you after a workout and you can even use it for work or listen to music for a couple of hours after your workout.
A 15 min charging the Jaybird X3 headphones can easily give you 2-3 hours of playback which is amazing as well. When it comes to battery life, the Jaybird X3 is the clear winner.
Both the headphones have their own respective advantages and disadvantages, however, if you are looking for a good price feature balance then I would definitely recommend the Jaybird X3, else if you want to go for a headphone that has a slightly larger earbuds so that it fits you better then the Bose SoundSport headphones are great as well.
The Bose Soundsport does have an amazing fit in comparison to the Jaybird but you might want to consider the durability factor as it is not pleasing to spend so much on a headphone and then part ways with it within 6-7 months of use.
If it lasts longer in your case then great but otherwise you should definitely get the Jaybird X3 headphones as they would make your music listening experience so much better.
