The Freedom F5 and the Freedom 2 are probably the best headphones that you can choose for running. The small earbuds fit perfectly and the silicone foam ear tips give you the best fit in Freedom F5.
If you are thinking which one is better than the other then you might want to carefully read the review as both of them have slight differences in their features.

Design and Build Quality
One thing pretty common in both the headphones is that they have pretty small earbuds which makes it easier to wear them during workout sessions.
The Jaybird Freedom F5 comes with a pretty simple design where you have the light small earbuds along with the inline remote. The entire design is straightforward and there is nothing fancy going on like the Jaybird X3 headphones.
The Freedom 2, on the other hand, is a lightweight headphone and has a slightly better design than the Freedom F5. The headphones come with the wire adjuster that helps in better wire management to give you a perfect fit.
Freedom 2 is probably the best headphones for running as you can easily fix the length of the wire to your liking for a perfect fit. This makes the headphones stay in place during extensive workout sessions.
Both the headphones have a pretty simple design where the Freedom 2 has a better fin tip design than the Freedom F5 giving you a better fit.
The sound quality of the Freedom F5 similar to the Freedom 2 and I did not see any significant difference. Both the headphones have clear and crisp audio along with a nice bass.
The bass may not be as powerful as the Bose Soundsport headphones but it is clearly as good as the Jaybird X2s. These headphones have an inline remote with which you can control teh volume and take up calls while working out.
The Freedom F5 have this foam tip which gives you a better secure resulting in a much better noise cancellation. If you are into that then do consider the Freedom F5 over the Freedom 2.
The Freedom 2 ear tips are more like soft rubbery material so it is comfortable but it does not give that noise cancellation which is possible because of the foam tip of the Freedom F5.
Both the headphones are pretty comfortable to wear but when you get into the specific details, the Freedom F5 has the option of foam tips which kind of expand inside your ear giving you the perfect seal.
This really enhances the noise cancellation on these headphones and if you are wondering, they do come with different ear tip and fin tip sizes. The ear tips and the fin tips are separate in these headphones so you can choose to wear them without the fins if you like.
In the Freedom 2, you have the ear tips and the fin tips combined, so if you are going to choose between different sizes then both the ear tips and the fin tips are going to be together. You cannot wear the headphones without the fins.
The ear tips are made up of soft rubber material and they are really comfortable. Since the Freedom 2 headphones are light and really comfortable to wear, I think you might want to go with them for outdoor workout sessions.
Both the headphones work pretty well and are sweat and water resistant which is perfect for you workout sessions. You can use them even in teh rains and they would work perfectly fine without getting damaged.
The headphones are going to last really long and most of the users who have them for quite a while are satisfied with their performance.
The Jaybird Headphones have always lasted for a pretty good time and I can say that from the Jaybird X3 that I own which are about 1.5 years old and work perfectly fine.
This brand does put in a lot of quality in their products. Although make sure that you take care of the headphones and put them in a dust bag when they are not in use.
Both the Freedom headphones are equally good when it comes to durability so you can be assured that they are both going to last you long.
The battery life on the Freedom 2 and the Freedom F5 both would last for around 4 hours. The headphones have an average battery life.
Obviously, if you ask me to compare both these headphones with the Jaybird X2 and X3 then I would have to say that the X2 and X3 are much better when it comes to ease of charging, battery life and the fact that the battery lasts for around 8 hours.
The headphones are perfect for workout sessions and in the case you are traveling, you can definitely take them along with you on your journey and they are definitely going to be pretty useful.
Once you attach the cradle you get an extra 4 hours but that is an added weight so you might want to consider that.
The headphones charge fast as well, you get around 2 hours of playback with a 5 minute of charging.
Comparing both the Jaybird Freedom F5 and the Freedom 2, it is clear that the Freedom 2 are must better option for workouts as they are pretty comfortable and come with an excellent fit.
They are light and you do not feel anything bulky in your ear or around your neck. With both the headphones having almost the same features, it is better to use the Freedom 2 headphones over the Freedom F5.
You can choose the Freedom F5 if you are particularly keen on using the foam tips and want to have a separate ear tip and fin tip selection.
