Design and Build Quality
The design and Build quality of the Jaybird X3 headphones are amazing and that is going to be obvious once you see both teh headphones side by side. The Logo embossed on the earbuds and the metallic finish makes the X3 look elegant and sleek.
The Jaybird Freedom 2, on the other hand, looks pretty decent and the earbuds are particularly small on these headphones which make them perfect for running as you are not going to notice any weight of the headphones in your ear.
The Jaybird X3 earbuds are small but the ones on the Freedom 2 are smaller hence making them really light in weight and suitable for workouts where there is a lot of movements.
Both the headphones have good build quality but if I had to choose one then I would definitely choose the X3 over Freedom 2 as they have better design and Build Quality.
Both the Jaybird X3 and the Freedom 2 headphones have pretty good sound quality and noise isolation. The headphones are compatible with all the Jaybird apps which include the MySound app for finer tuning of the music.
The headphones have an inline remote and mic which helps you to change the soundtrack without touching the phone, so basically you can keep your phone in the gym bag and use the headphones to listen to the music.
You can easily take up calls with both the headphones without any connectivity issues as well.
Both the headphones are really easy to pair with your phone and have a nice Bluetooth range so it would not be a problem if you kept your phone on charging and at the same time used the headphones for working out.
However, if I had to pick one then it would be jaybird but I guess since the sound quality is pretty much similar, you can’t tell the difference.
The comfort level of both the headphones is pretty amazing. The Jaybird X3 is a pretty good headphone and you have different fin tip sizes and earbud sizes which help you decide which combination is the perfect fit for you.
The Jaybird X3 fit perfectly and are slightly bigger in the earbud size in comparison to the Jaybird Freedom headphones.
The Freedom earbuds are smaller and hence they are more comfortable for someone who wears headphones for a really long time and usually prefers smaller earbuds.
The Freedom 2 are excellent for running as you can reduce the length of the wire according to your needs and this results in a much better for extensive outdoor exercise activities.
The Jaybird X3 is water resistant and sweatproof. You can drop these headphones in the water and you would still find them working just fine without any issues.
There are people who have tossed them into the washing machine and still found them working so when it comes to durability these headphones are definitely in for the long run.
Even the Jaybird Freedom 2 headphones are pretty durable like the Jaybird X3 headphones.
Both of the headphones can last for about 2 years easily and they are really durable. You can use them for intense workout sessions without any issues and the final verdict would be that both the headphones are going to last you a long time.
Now here is where you decide which headphone is actually better, the Jaybird X3 headphones have a battery life of about 8 hours which is pretty good.
On an average, most of the sports Bluetooth headphones have an average battery life of about 8 hours and Jaybird X3 has that to save its reputation.
On the other hand, the Jaybird Freedom 2 has a four-hour battery life which is outright depressing, the charging cradle which can give you another four hours so that is a plus but all in all it is not as good as the Jaybird X3.
If you look at the battery life then the Jaybird X3 headphones are without any doubt the winner.
The Jaybird X3 headphones are better than the Jaybird Freedom 2 in my opinion. The X3 has far better features including a better battery life in comparison to Freedom2. The headphones are comfortable, durable and will certainly last you long.
The Freedom 2, on the other hand, are good as well, however, they might have a little lower battery life, until you are okay with using the charging cradle after 4 hours. The Freedom 2 gives you a perfect fit and is ideal for running and activities that involve vigorous movements.
