Design and Build Quality
The design of the Jaybird X3 is pretty sleek and premium. These headphones have a really comfortable design and their earbuds are smaller than the X2 making them more easier to wear.
The earbuds do not stick out for Jaybird X3, in the case of larger earbuds which is definitely a plus when it comes to the design of these headphones.
The Jaybird Freedom F5, on the other hand, is pretty easy to wear as well since they have smaller earbuds. These headphones are more popular among women as they fit the ears without hurting the ear canal.
This happens when you wear a headphone with larger earbuds for a really long time but with the amazing design of the Freedom F5, you do not face such issues. I liked the design of the Jaybird X3s a bit better than that of the Jaybird Freedom headphones.
The Jaybird Freedom F5 headphones have a really simple design with a matte black finish so when it comes to having a better design, it is the Jaybird X3 headphones.
Both the Jaybird X3 and the Freedom headphones have pretty good sound quality and noise isolation. The headphones are compatible with all the Jaybird apps which include the MySound app for finer tuning of the music.
The Jaybird X3 headphones and the Freedom headphone both have an excellent sound quality and it is difficult to pick out one among the two.
The headphones have an inline remote and mic which helps you to change the soundtrack without touching the phone, so basically you can keep your phone in the gym bag and use the headphones to listen to the music.
You can easily take up calls with both the headphones without any connectivity issues as well.
Both the headphones are really easy to pair with your phone and have a nice Bluetooth range so it would not be a problem if you kept your phone on charging and at the same time used the headphones for working out.
The comfort level of both the headphones is pretty amazing. The Jaybird X3 is a pretty good headphone and you have different fin tip sizes and earbud sizes which help you decide which combination is the perfect fit for you.
The Jaybird X3 fit perfectly and are slightly bigger in the earbud size in comparison to the Jaybird Freedom headphones.
The Freedom earbuds are smaller and hence they are more comfortable for someone who wears headphones for a really long time and prefers smaller earbuds.
Honestly, it is really going to depend from person to person when it comes to which one is more comfortable and if you look at the overall comfort level, both the headphones are equally good and comfortable for workout sessions.
The Jaybird X3 is water resistant and sweatproof. You can drop these headphones in the water and you would still find them working just fine without any issues.
There are people who have tossed them into the washing machine and still found them working so when it comes to durability these headphones are definitely in for the long run.
Even the Jaybird Freedom headphones are pretty durable like the Jaybird X3 headphones.
Both of the headphones can last for about 2 years easily and they are really durable. You can use them for intense workout sessions without any issues and the final verdict would be that both the headphones are going to last you a long time.
Now here is where you decide which headphone is actually better, the Jaybird X3 headphones have a battery life of about 8 hours which is pretty good. On an average, most of the sports Bluetooth headphones have an average battery life of about 8 hours and Jaybird X3 has that to save its reputation.
On the other hand, the Jaybird Freedom F5 has a four-hour battery life which is a little sad but with the charging cradle, you can get another four hours so that is a plus but all in all it is not as good as the Jaybird X3. If you look at the battery life then the Jaybird X3 headphones look like the winners.
However, if you are okay with attaching the battery pack while workout sessions then you would have a major issue with the Freedom F5 headphones. These headphones are already very light in weight so adding the battery pack does not make a huge difference on the headphones.
Both the headphones are amazing when you consider the sound quality, however, if you are looking at the size of these headphones then the Jaybird Freedom earbuds are slightly smaller than the Jaybird X3. The sound quality is pretty great with the Jaybird X3 but the Jaybird Freedom has some pretty decent sound quality for the given price point.
The Jaybird Freedom F5 have a battery life that lasts for about 4 hours and the Jaybird X3 headphones have a battery life that can easily last you about 8 hours. You can extend the battery life of the Freedom F5 with the help of the battery pack that comes along with it giving you a total of an 8-hour battery life.
The battery pack might add some weight but honestly, it didn’t bother me during the workout sessions.
So if you are really particular about the battery life then without a second thought you should go for the Jaybird X3 headphones. I would go for the Jaybird X3 because they might be a little expensive but they are totally worth it.
If you are looking for a long lasting headphone then I urge you go for the Jaybird X3’s as they might be a little expensive but they are totally worth it in the long run. I have mine and they have lasted for 2 years, so they are going to stay with you!
