Design and Build Quality
The design of the headphones is pretty similar to the Jaybird X2 except for the Jaybird logo being done with a metallic finish on the top of the earbuds. The headphones have a really great built quality land sports a premium look like its predecessor.
This successor of the Jaybird 2 has better features and other qualities present in it. Although there isn’t a massive change but it is still an improvement from the Jaybird X2. The audio quality is better, the connectivity and every other feature are improved from the predecessor.
They are available in two colors which are black and white respectively. When it comes to the color options, I must give it to the X2 for having incredible color combinations. However, the Jaybird X3 is not a disappointment in this field but they could do better.
The audio quality with the Jaybird X3 is better than the Jaybird X2. The highs and lows are very defined and you could actually feel the bass is more than the predecessor. This is an improvement but not as much as you would have expected. The developers could do slightly better and enhance the audio quality.
You could change the settings in the MySoundApp and refine the audio quality the way you like. The perfect seal of the earbuds in the Jaybird X3 promises a much better audio because of the great noise cancellation. These headphones have an amazing audio quality overall and compared to the other headphones it has a way better audio quality.
You could manipulate the seal in order to reduce the noise cancellation and let more of the outside sound be heard which would be the case if you are exercising outdoors or when you go on a run.
These headphones have two types of ear tips and each of them come in three different sizes in order to provide you with the perfect fit. The ear fins also help you to avoid the headphones from falling off your ears while running or doing any other kind of exercises.
The controls on these headphones are pretty easy to use and you can take calls and they just go around the back of your head. You can adjust the length of the cable according to your comfort level. The headphones are water resistant so you need not worry about ruining them because of excessive sweating.
Most of the features here are pretty similar to that of the Jaybird X2. The different sizes of the headphones that are available would ensure anyone a perfect fit because of the available different options. Jaybird has done a really great job in providing users with all kinds of sizes so that no one would have to adjust when it comes to comfort.
Jaybird X3 are pretty good in giving you a loud musical experience, so the noise isolation is pretty good. With the perfect fit you get a nice noise isolation so if you want a little bit of the noise from the environment to be audible then you might want to rethink with the headphones. The noise isolation is way better than its predecessor.
However, keeping the volume low might do the job but if that is a deal breaker for you then choose headphones which have lower noise isolation. According to me, if you need headphones for gym workouts then I do not see a reason why you would not go for these headphones.
The headphones have a pretty good game going on with all the features being spot on. Noise isolation is something which not all athletes would prefer especially if you are into outdoor activities but you could always manage it by keeping the volume lower or adjusting the way the headphones fit your ear.
The battery life in the Jaybird X3 is same as the Jaybird X2 and here is where I feel they could have made some improvements. The battery lasts for around 8 hours which is pretty impressive. An average Bluetooth headphone last for about 4-5 hours but this one is pretty amazing with a battery life lasting up to 8 hours and more.
Battery life is very important when it comes to my headphones and with the amazing battery life on this headphones, it is my favorite when it comes to sports headphones. The connectivity on these headphones is pretty good and you might experience some disturbances initially but that is a very rare situation but when it happens it does get annoying.
The best battery life is something that Jaybird had to offer for the price you are investing on this headphones. Jaybird has not disappointed us in any of its features making the Jaybird X2 a really good deal when it comes to quality headphones.
The Jaybird X3 is better than the Jaybird X2 headphones in many ways, however, I have to admit that they could have improved the battery life on the X3. Apart from the same battery life, the Jaybird X3 has a better audio quality, noise isolation, and comfort.
The Jaybird X3 comes with a small dust bag and with minimum maintenance, they could be kept good as new for a really long time. The Jaybird X3 charging cable is a little different from the X2 charging style and that could be a little annoying.
The Jaybird X3 is for $129.99 which is a great price for such quality headphones and I think if you are an audiophile and really want to have the best in-ear headphones while working out then the Jaybird X3 is the right sports Bluetooth headphone for you.
