Display and Build Quality
The JLAB Audio Epic 2 is pretty amazing and the design of the headphones is pretty comfortable to wear. The wire around the earbuds is looped which gives you a better fit.

The design of the headphone is a little better than the Jaybird as you have the wire adjuster and the inline remote, which makes managing the earbuds really easy.
The Jaybird on other hand comes with a simple design of the earbuds along with the Jaybird Logo embossed on each of the earbuds.

The wire length between the two earbuds is smaller in Jaybird which means that you don’t really need an adjuster but it would have been nice if they had one.
Sound Quality
The Sound quality on the JLAB Audio Epic 2 is pretty good, not great but good. It is something that I would have expected from a headphone in the price range so I’m not disappointed.
The audio is crisp clear and if you are looking for some good audio quality then you would not be disappointed. It comes with an app where you can choose from different settings to tune the audio quality.
The Jaybird X3, on the other hand, has a great sound quality and I have loved these headphones for the same. You are going to find a slight difference and that would be mainly because of the finer tuning that you can do on these headphones with their App.
Unlike JLAB there are quite a bit more audio tune options that you can possibly do with the Jaybird X3. Overall, the sound quality of the Jaybird X3 might be a slight bit better than the JLAB Audio Epic 2.
Comfort
The JLAB Audio Epic comes with different sizes of foam tips and you can choose the combination that best works for you. Overall, I liked the loop design around the earbuds which makes the headphones more comfortable to wear.
The Jaybird X3, again have different fin tips and ear tip sizes which are pretty much similar and the comfort really depends on the person.
I personally found the JLAB a bit more comfortable than the Jaybird, however, it can be a totally different situation in your case.
Overall, both are equally well designed and comfortable so when it comes to who is up for the win, I would definitely say both of them.
Durability
JLAB Audio epic is sweatproof and waterproof which means you can use it in any weather condition without having to worry about ruining the headphones.
These can handle splashes of water, however, you cannot immerse them in water. The JLAB Audio headphones come with a dust bag so that you can store them in it and they stay with you longer.
The Jaybird X3 is waterproof and sweatproof as well, so both the headphones have the same amount of durability if you look at them from the IPX rating point of view.
The Jaybird X3 have lasted long in my case so I can be sure about these headphones.
Battery Life
This is a feature where you are going to see the major difference between the two headphones as the Jaybird X3 comes with an 8-hour battery life while the JLAB Audio Epic comes with a 12-hour battery life.
Although it is pretty decent to have an 8-hour battery life and Jaybird X3’s do deliver that one just cannot ignore the fact that longer the battery life, the better it gets.
The JLAB Audio Epic gives you 12-hour battery life which is amazing and a 15 min charge can easily give you up to 2 hours of playback time which is pretty amazing as well.
When it comes to this particular feature it is pretty easy to pick up a winner and that is the JLAB Audio Epic 2 with its amazing battery life.
Conclusion
Both the headphones are pretty amazing and they excel in different features which makes it a little difficult to decide which one is a better purchase.
Even the price of these two are the same as Jaybird is most of the time on a discounted price on Amazon which makes the price difference almost zero.
The Jaybird wins in the Sound Quality, Comfort and durability whereas the JLAB Audio Epic 2 wins in the Design, Comfort, Durability and Battery Life.
Well, I think I would invest in a pair of JLAB Audio Epic 2, however since comfort is a varying factor here, you might want to consider which design would suit you the best before you go ahead and make your purchase decision.
