Plantronics Backbeat and Jaybird X3 are both amazing sports Bluetooth headphones. Which one is better than the other is going to be a difficult choice so lets narrow down the features of both the headphones so that it gets easier to make a buying decision according to your needs.
The Jaybird X3 headphones have been my personal favorite and if you have been reading a couple of posts on this blog then you would know that Jaybird has been one of best companies for sports Bluetooth headphones. So without any further ado, let’s take a look if the Jaybird headphones are as good as the Plantronics Backbeat Fit.
Design and Build Quality
Plantronics Backbeat is one of the best wireless sports Bluetooth headphones and if they look pretty unique with a slightly different design in comparison to other Bluetooth headphones. The band at the back of your neck which connects the two earpieces is firm and hence gives you a better feel while you are running or cycling.
The headphones are made up of a really comfortable material which is ideal for working out. They are designed in such a way that you would be able to hear the sounds of the surroundings and would not be completely isolated from what is happening around.
Jaybird, on the other hand, comes with a pretty amazing Logo embossed on the earbuds along with an overall premium look. The Jaybird X3 headphones have an amazing seal and fit so they have definitely aced the Plantronics Backbeat Fit when it comes to the overall design.
Honestly, the Plantronics looks and feels more sporty while the Jaybird looks like premium quality headphones. Personally, I would choose the Jaybird but if you want to go for something more sporty then do consider the Plantronics Backbeat.
The Plantronics Backbeat have a really great sound quality and it has the perfect bass to give you that extra oomph you need in your workout sessions. I think these headphones are value for money when you look at the sound quality aspect of it.
The headphones do let sound from the outside seep in, so the noise cancellation on these headphones is not that great after all. These headphones are perfect for running and cycling which are activities that appreciate the NO noise cancellation features on these headphones.
Jaybird X3, on the other hand, has some pretty good sound quality and when compared to the Plantronics Backbeat, I think the sound quality on Jaybird is much better. The noise isolation on the Jaybird headphones is amazing as well, so if you are someone like me who likes to zone out during workouts then Jaybird X3 is definitely something you should consider.
Both the headphones are water and sweat resistant. They are pretty durable and if taken care, they could last for a couple of years as well. Many customers have been pretty satisfied with the durability and how well it works even after a long-term usage.
I have put my Jaybird X3 into the washing machine with my clothes and it came out just fine. Not suggesting you try it but just trying to say that they really are waterproof and you need to do some serious damage to the headphones for them to stop working.
If you take proper care then both these headphones can last you a really long time. They come with a dust bag so I would suggest you store it in them while you are done using them,
These Plantronics Backbeat headphones are pretty comfortable and they fit tremendously well. They do not fall off even if you jump while wearing them and that is something which makes your entire workout session smooth. They are comfortable and would easily fit according to your comfort level.
The Jaybird headphones are comfortable as well and stay put during your entire workout session. The firm band in the case of the Plantronics Backbeat can be a little annoying for someone with long hair like mine. I Liked the Jaybird X3 as once I found the right combination of the fin tip and ear tip, I was good to go.
Both the Jaybird X3 and the Plantronics backbeat headphones last for about a good 8 hours and I must admit that it has an above average battery life and would last really long. The charger comes included in the box and a 15 minute of charge should give you a good enough battery life for one workout session.
This is pretty impressive about these headphones because it has happened many times that I have forgotten to charge my headphones and then skipped gym saying to myself that there is no charge in the headphones and without music gym gets boring.
Both the headphones are probably the best headphones in the given price range with almost similar amazing features.
Both the headphones are pretty good but when it comes down to which one is better, it really depends on which design suits you better and which one makes you feel more comfortable. I would choose the Jaybird X3 because of its classic simple design which would suit anyone.
The Plantronics Backbeat has a unique design and it does seem to have a possibility to not impress a few people. In both the case, let me know what you guys think in the comments below!
