Plantronics Backbeat series has the best sports Bluetooth headphone collection and one of the best among the series is the Plantronics Backbeat Go 2.
This headphone was a rage when released and if you are still thinking about getting one of these for your gym workout sessions then do read the detailed review on these headphones.
Honestly, these headphones already have a successor released at the time of writing this post(Plantronics Backbeat Go 3), but if you still want to invest in an amazing headphone within a given budget then this one from Plantronics might be the one you are looking for.
Design and Build Quality
The design of these headphones is simple and it comes with some really lightweight simple earbuds. Although this design does look very simple, it is really comfortable on the ears and stays that way for longer periods of time.
The earbuds were a perfect fit for me and the wire was not annoying while I wore it and went for a run. Overall, the headphone design is simple and comfortable, the build quality looks pretty decent as well and with the inline remote, you can easily reach the volume controls anytime during your workouts.
Overall, the headphones are pretty good when it comes to the design and build quality, it is not at a premium level but it is definitely good enough for your daily workout sessions.
The sound quality on these headphones is pretty impressive at the given price point. Usually, headphones in the given price range have very average sound quality but this one here from Plantronics is a delight.
You can hear the highs and the lows clearly with a pretty good bass. The bass on these headphones is not as good as the Bose Soundsport but it is definitely good for a headphone in the given price range.
The Bluetooth connectivity is pretty good as well and I could get a clear connection even when I went to another room. I did not find any disturbances in the network connectivity until you go way too far away from your phone. You can easily take up calls as well and I could hear the person clearly on the other end and the conversation went smoothly.
The headphones come with three different ear tips option and the one that fits you the best would be good to go. The earbuds are pretty comfortable and the ear tips have a good seal.
The noise cancellation on these headphones is pretty good and if you want to totally zone into your workout session then you have to try out these headphones.
These are light in weight and you would not feel like you are wearing anything too heavy on your ears while working or taking a run. While running the earbuds stay in place, although I would have appreciated a wire adjuster, however, everything worked out just fine in the end.
These headphones are sweat and water resistant and they can last really long. The headphones are made up of pretty good quality material and these have proven to be amazing when it comes to durability.
You might want to have some minimum maintenance and avoid loosening of the headphone wires hence always store them in a dust bag in order to maintain their quality.
There are users have complained about them having issues with the way the headphones work while they got them so make sure you check for any manufacturing defect once you get the headphones delivered.
The battery life on these headphones is going to last about 5 hours. This is a pretty average battery life and to be honest, you can say it is less than average. Usually, an average battery life of a Bluetooth headphone is 6 hours.
The battery life could be improved but the fact that you do get a life of 5 hours is not bad and you can easily use it for your workout sessions and listen to music on the way back home as well.
These headphones are pretty easy to carry around and with the battery life, you do have a few more hours of music on them after your workout sessions. It comes with a 10 days standby mode which is an added advantage for these headphones.
Since these are waterproof I even wear them while doing some chores in the house. These headphones can be used for other tasks as well so you do not have to just limit them to your gym.
These headphones are amazing if you looking for something good in the under $50 price range as they usually are on sale on Amazon. The headphones have a pretty good sound quality, design and are really comfortable. It would be a nice thing to invest in some quality headphones like these so I would definitely recommend them.
However, if you are looking to up your game and go for premium headphones then you might want to consider the Plantronics Backbeat GO 3, Jaybird X3, Bose Soundsport or the Powerbeats 3 wireless headphones.
