Powerbeats3 and Jaybird Freedom 2 are probably the two best headphones for two major sports Bluetooth headphone companies. I think I already know which one would be my preference and if you just want to skip through all the features and read the Conclusion.
But if you really want to know every feature in detail then I recommend that you read the entire comparison post thoroughly before you can make an informed buying decision.
Design and Build Quality
The Powerbeats 3 headphones have an ear clip design which holds the headphones firmly in place while doing an extensive workout. These headphones have an amazing matte finish, giving it a nice premium feel and the build quality does not feel cheap at all.
The Jaybird headphones, on the other hand, have the single earbuds design with fin tips which hold the earbuds securely in your ears. These headphones look amazing with a metallic Jaybird Logo embossed on the earbuds.
The Jaybird Freedom 2 headphones look and feel like expensive headphones, so if you ever plan on investing on these headphones then you would not be disappointed with their design and build quality altogether.
The Jaybird headphones are known for their sound quality and in reality, they do have an amazing clear audio quality which never disappoints. There is the MySound app which helps you to further enhance the sound quality of these headphones.
The Powerbeats headphones, on the other hand, gives you a clear loud audio quality with the feature to tune your audio with a dedicated app.
The connectivity on both the headphones is pretty good but I personally liked the ones on the Powerbeats 3 as they never gave me an issue while I used them for running and other outdoor activities.
However, you might be careful with the volume on these headphones as they can get pretty loud and if you are outdoors, you might want to keep it low so that you are aware of your surroundings.
The Powerbeats 3 comes with different ear tip sizes and once you find the ear tip that fits you perfectly you will have a really comfortable workout session.
These earbuds do not fall off your ears as they have the ear clip which is pretty amazing although, with too much sweating, I too feel a bit irritated when the sweat accumulates around the ear clip.
The Jaybird Freedom has no ear clip design so you do not feel irritated with the ear clip while you are sweating extensively, however, I did appreciate the fact that they were not there at all.
However, while running, you might feel the earbuds loosen a bit in the Jaybird Freedom but that was so not the case in Powerbeats 3. The headphones were put all the time and not even once did I feel the need to fix them again.
The Jaybird Freedom 2 and the Powerbeats 3 are both sweat and water resistant. Even though they are water resistant does not mean that you can go swimming with these but instead, they can handle a few splashes of water.
I still remember leaving my Jaybird Freedoms in my jeans pocket and washing them, the result? They worked perfectly fine and survived an entire cleaning process in the washing machine. So, they are waterproof and really durable.
They both come with a dust bag and a box respectively where you can keep these headphones when they are not in use. Minimum maintenance just extends their life making them last longer.
The battery life on the Jaybird Freedom 2 headphones is just 8 hours and you can get another 1-2 hours of playback with 10 minutes of charge. This is a pretty decent battery life for a sports Bluetooth headphones.
The Powerbeats comes with a 12-hour battery life which is way better than the 8-hour battery life of the Jaybird X2. The Powerbeats 3 is probably the best Bluetooth headphones when it comes to long-lasting battery life.
If battery life is your only concern then you should definitely go for the Powerbeats 3 as there is no way you can get a better headphone than this.
Both the headphones are pretty amazing so in the case, the Jaybird Freedom 2 has an amazing design and build quality along with a great sound quality. The Jaybird Freedom 2 also is long lasting and water resistant which makes them suitable for workout sessions in any weather conditions.
The Powerbeats, on the other hand, has an ear clip design and all the other amazing feature that the Jaybird X2 has along with a way better battery life. Considering the price points, the Powerbeats 3 is better in all aspects so do choose them if you are okay with their ear clip design.
