The Sony WF1000X earbuds are something I have been waiting for as Sony is known for their amazing music quality and having most of their headphones, I wanted to see if this one beats other Truly wireless headphones out there in competition.
The Jabra Sports Elite, Jaybird Run, and the Bose Sounsport Free headphones are pretty good and if you are wondering where the WF1000X wireless headphones from Sony stand in the bunch of these amazing sports Bluetooth headphones then keep reading the review.
Design and Build Quality
The design of these Bluetooth earbuds is minimalistic and they are so amazing that you would instantly fall in love with them. The earbuds are light and very easy to wear and walk around with, one cannot ignore the fact that they are completely wireless which makes them easy to use.
The design of the earbuds is simple and classy at the same time and they do not look funky like most of the sports Bluetooth headphones, instead are more like the classy earbuds you would use for work. I personally liked the glossy black finish of the earbuds giving them a premium look.
The headphones have a small button to ON the earbuds and connect them to your phone. You would love the entire look and build quality on these headphones as they are one of a kind and amazing.
The sound quality on these headphones is pretty good. Although there are better earbuds and you might have some issue with the audio being in sync in the left and the right earbuds.
The sound quality definitely could have been better but it is not bad and you can adjust the bass and other sound settings using the equalizer in the dedicated app. The earbuds come with a button which you can use to control the song being played and the volume.
Bluetooth connectivity on these earbuds is pretty okayish and even if you are not in the same room as the phone, you might be able to get some good connectivity without the sound breaking but in comparison to the Samsung Gear IconX, these aren’t that great.
Reviewing these pair of earbuds after the Gear IconX 2018 release makes everything look and sound mediocre as the latter has some really great features.
The Sony headphones are extremely comfortable and they stay put all the time even during extensive workout sessions when there is a lot of moving around of the head. This is an advantage as most of the cord free earbuds tend to come off during an extensive workout session.
The earbuds have choices for different ear tips and you can choose from the silicone ones and the foam ear tips depending on the level of noise isolation. The earbuds come with a feature to adjust the noise cancellation which is amazing if you plan on taking these earbuds for cycling or any other sports activities.
The headphones are really comfortable and once you get your perfect ear tip then you can wear them for really long periods of time without being bothered by them. They are perfect for gym sessions or running and cycling.
The headphones do not say that they are waterproof but they can handle sweat and a few splashes of water. The headphones are waterproof so you can take them out for workouts even in the rains making them perfect for any weather condition.
The headphones come with a charging case which is pretty good to store both the earbuds as well. This way you can get them charged and at the same time avoid yourself from a situation where you lose one of the earbuds.
These earbuds are a pretty good investment and they can last you really long if you use them properly. Something that we have been in love with about these headphones is the fact that they are waterproof, however, it would have been nice to be sure with the IPX rating but they can handle a few splashes of water and that is all we can say about them for now.
The battery life of these earbuds is 3 hours which is pretty less in comparison to most of the wireless earbuds that at least give a minimum of 4 hours of battery life. However, you do get the charging case which would give you an hour of playback with just 15 minutes of charging.
The battery life is very average and it could have definitely been better. The charging case does add up some additional hours to the battery life on the earbuds giving you a total of up to 9 hours of battery life.
When compared with the Samsung Gear IconX, it is clear that these earbuds could have done much better and the IconX have way better features including an excellent battery life.
Thee Sony WF100X is one the best pick among all the TRUE wireless headphones that we have, apart from the battery life most of the features of these headphones are pretty good and you can manage to wear them in your workout sessions.
The connectivity is decent and you might actually get used to wearing these earbuds as they are cord-free and really comfortable. If you are looking for something with a longer battery life then you might want to look into the Samsung Gear IconX headphones and if you like headphones with a strong bass then the Bose Soundsport Free is the way to go.
However, the Sony TRUE wireless headphones have come a long way and do check them out on Amazon and let us know what you think in the comments down below!
